History

Fairfield-Echols, LLC was originally founded in 1929 as a grading contractor operating under the title of Echols Brothers, Inc. In 1964, Fairfield Bridge Company was formed. These two companies were eventually merged together in the 1990’s and operated as Fairfield-Echols Corporation, Fairfield Skanska, Inc. and today as Fairfield-Echols, LLC. Fairfield holds a Class A Contractor’s License to conduct business in the state of Virginia. Fairfield-Echols’ main office is located in Fishersville, Virginia. This location allows Fairfield to conveniently serve the regions of central, western, northern and southern Virginia. The company’s clients consist of the Virginia Department of Transportation, private developers, local governments, municipalities and general/prime contractors.

Fairfield’s number of employees range from 30 to 60 depending upon the workload and seasonal constraints. Previous and current projects range from $500,000 to $30 million in value. Over the years, Fairfield has proven itself at being able to deliver projects on-time and on-budget.
